NO TO OBAMA'S HEALTH REFORM!!!

Everyone...we are living in dangerous times with the change of the health care reforms that the government is trying to pass...It's extrememly dangerous.  Please read everything & listen to good informative news broadcasts like Fox News, CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) even CSPAN has had good info.  Most of the main stream media networks are not telling you the truth as to what is in the health reform bill. This bill is dangerous!  It may cost the life of a loved one like your parents, spouse, children, your baby, or even yourself.

I need help, but I'm willing to help as well.  I'm a single mom - my kids are grown - and now I am suffering from pulmonary fibrosis and myelodysplastic syndrome (a bone marrow cancer).  Both of these are terminal - according to research, the pulmonary fibrosis (NSIP) has a 90% 5 year survival, but that drops to 40% after 5 years; and the MDS (myelodysplaystic syndrome) has a survival of 3-4 years.

I obtained a 'powerchair' last month, and now all I need is a minivan to transport it and my oxygen systems in order to travel and visit my grandkids (last time I saw them was last fall when my daughter came to Detroit from Chicagoland, and the day after she arrived I ended up in the hospital - again (my 5th in 2 months) with pneumonia, so needless to say, we didn't have a lot of time together!

I need this van in order to get around town as well - it's getting harder and harder for me to use the walker - I get short of breath more and more readily...I can walk about 150 feet before I start to 'desat' (o2 level in blood drops), so the use of the powerchair for doing stuff outside of the home would be fantastic.  Yes, they have a bus system, but it's not comprehensive, and does not run all the times I need it to run, or where I want to run to - my docs are in another county, and the system only runs the county I'm in.  Right now, my daughter has to struggle to shove my wheelchair into a 2-door chevy cavalier (if you know how small THAT is, you'll know what I mean!).  Needless to say, I got the cavalier years before i got sick! :)

My REAL dream is next year to drive to IL to visit my grandkids then onto NE to see my mom, whom I haven't seen since 1999.  She, too, is ill, and I'm not certain that either of us would be able to see each other after next year (heck I'm not totally certain I'll be able to travel next year, but i can dream, can't I?).  I need to carry the powerchair, a wheelchair (for places where the powerchair is too big), a walker, two oxygen machine components, and of course, us and luggage.

I've worked for many years as secretary and computer tech, and can still do some computer tech work - including web design, when I have the energy.  I'm not totally looking for a 'free lunch' - I CAN afford payment of $125/month - maybe $150.  I just don't have a big amount of money for downpayment and/or full payment.  Almost 100% of my debt is medical bills, so my credit is crushed

Primary Pulmonary Hypertension - need help asap!

in Febuary of 2006 I was diagnosed with Primary Pulmonary Hypertension , and told that I had approxamatly 2-4 years to live.. that is without a bi-latteral lung and Heart transplant.

Since the first diagnosis i have had other doctors oppinions, each ending with the same outcome. I am only 40 years old, but have not been able to work much, I have a 14 year old daughter, whom i love very much. She has chosen to be by my side while i go thru the everyday grind. Her mother has not been a part of our lives for some time, due to drugs and poor choices she is now in prison.

The problem is this, We have no money whatsoever, I have applied for social security bennifits, but was turned down because of my work history,(not enough billable hours) so then applied for SSI which i havent been able to get yet because I had no birth certificate, well that is now coming but it takes 4 months to go thru after i submit my birth certificiate.

We need a break, we have both struggled so hard this year , it is so frustrating. we were just evicted from our appartment in tempe Arizona, because i couldnt get assistance yet, because of the birth certificate taking so long to arive.. as it stands right now, Her best friends parents have been wonderfull enough to let her stay there for a few days untill i can figure something out.

please if there is anything anyone can do financially or other let me know.

thank you very much.

I Understand Your Pain

I am a single mother raising two teenagers.  Im not on aidpage for no one particular reason, there are many.  Most of us on here are going and/or have gone through some hard times.  I am in hope of meeting new friends and lending a shoulder if someone should need some emotional support.  In return you may find that I am in need of your shoulder as well.

I am trying to live with the fact that my 17 year old son has a rare disease known as Wegeners Granulomatosis and there is no cure.  This disease was caught in some of the last stages, therefore he is catagorized as terminal.. So, I can feel everyones pain who is having a trying time as well..  Maybe this site will help keep our minds off of things for a bit, thats what I am hoping for..  If there is anything I could do for anyone I would, I can offer you a friend or just someone to talk to..

If there are any doctors or medical proffesionals on the site, I would be so grateful if you could tell me more about this disease.. Thanks
